This resolution, known as the 'Quit India' resolution, was proposed by Jawaharlal Nehru and seconded by Sardar Patel.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) met in Bombay in August to approve the resolution. On August 8, 1942, the Quit India Resolution was ratified at the Congress meeting at Gowalia Tank, Bombay.
Therefore, the Quit India Resolution was adopted by the AICC on 8th August, 1942.
