When a resolution for the removal of the Speaker is under consideration in the Lok Sabha, the following rules apply:
- The Speaker shall not preside over the sitting of the House, although they may be present.
- The Speaker retains the right to speak and participate in the proceedings of the House.
- The Speaker is entitled to vote on the resolution in the first instance, but does not have a casting vote in the event of a tie.
Statement 1 is correct. Statements 2 and 3 are incorrect. Hence, only statement 1 is correct.
